My name is Joshua Carajanes, and I am the proud owner of Great Harbors Home Services. In 2020, following the passing of my Nana, I had the opportunity to purchase her home—a place filled with memories from my childhood. While the home held sentimental value, it needed a significant makeover.
Like many of you, I encountered the challenges that often come with home renovations: inconsistent estimates, sometimes varying by tens of thousands of dollars, contractors who were unresponsive, and the overwhelming feeling that quality work was financially out of reach.
After months of frustration, I decided to take control of the situation. With the support of family and friends, I immersed myself in learning through hands-on experience, gradually renovating both the interior and exterior of my home. Throughout the process, I discovered a deep passion for craftsmanship, quality, and meticulous attention to detail. I also learned the importance of accountability, ensuring that every mistake—no matter how challenging—was corrected to perfection.
This experience sparked my love for carpentry and construction. After a few years of honing my skills while also working full-time for the Department of Correction, I decided to officially launch Great Harbors Home Services in 2023. The name is a tribute to the neighborhood where my first renovation took place, and where my commitment to providing clients with a better, more transparent contractor experience was born.
